Power plant operational in southern Iran

TEHRAN -- Kish Power Plant No. 6 with a capacity of 37.5 megawatts became operational on the island, southern Iran, the managing director of Kish Water and Power Company said Monday.

The project cost about 110 billion rials ($11.75m).
Electricity consumption growth rate in Kish is more than twice as in other parts of Iran, Saeid Dezfuli added, accenting the necessity of such a power plant.
In the project, having been developed to a great deal last summer, 74,860 cu. m. of ground has been graded and high- and low-voltage cables with 10,500 meter length have been laid, he said.
The plant soars Kish power generation to 120 megawatts, the advisor to minister of energy added.
